Keggin Heteropolyacid Salt Catalysts in Oxidation Reactions: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Keggin heteropolyacids (HPAs) are metal–oxygen clusters with strong Bronsted acidity. The conversion of HPAs to metal salts can result in Lewis acidity, improving their performance oxidation reactions. In this review, the main routes for synthesis Keggin-type salts, as well use catalysts processes a plethora substrates, such monoterpenes, olefins, aldehydes, terpene alcohols, and aromatics, described. Green reactants hydrogen peroxide molecular oxygen used oxidants. These reactions interest several industries because they be produce drugs, additives, fragrances, fine chemicals. high efficiency HPA green oxidants contributes reduction environmental impact these processes, preconize principles chemistry. Moreover, converted bifunctional by modification structure, total or partial replacement protons acid cations, introduction cations into anion replacing addenda atoms (i.e., W Mo). Aspects linked characterization discussed herein, emphasis on infrared spectroscopy powder XRD patterns. most recent advances achieved development catalytic systems based also addressed.

Tailoring the Synergistic Bronsted-Lewis acidic effects in Heteropolyacid catalysts: Applied in Esterification and Transesterification Reactions

In order to investigate the influences of Lewis metals on acidic properties and catalytic activities, a series of Keggin heteropolyacid (HPA) catalysts, HnPW11MO39 (M = Ti(IV), Cu(II), Al(III), Sn(IV), Fe(III), Cr(III), Zr(IV) and Zn(II); for Ti and Zr, the number of oxygen is 40), were prepared and applied in the esterification and transesterification reactions. Only those cations with moderat...

Study on spinel supported gold catalysts for alcohol oxidation reactions

Gold had been regarded as an inactive metal in catalysis due to its inert chemical nature. However, it was found that when gold is prepared as nanoparticles, it can exhibit surprisingly high activity for various reactions, especially for oxidation reactions [1]. In order to obtain gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), support is commonly used, which can not only help to avoid agglomeration of AuNPs, but ...

High Temperature Partial Oxidation Reactions over Silver Catalysts

The exceptional catalytic activity of silver for a number of partial oxidation reactions has been known for nearly a century. Despite the wid espread use of silver in heterogeneous catalysis, there still remain unresolved questions about the mechanistic details of reaction. The ethylene epoxidation and formaldehyde synthesis reactions are the two industrially-relevant reactions which have recei...

Preparation of ultra low loaded Au catalysts for oxidation reactions.

Cyanide leaching was used to obtain Au/SiO2 catalysts with very low gold loadings. A number of catalysts with a nominal 5 wt% target loading were prepared using impregnation and deposition precipitation techniques and these were found to be active catalysts for the solvent-free aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol. Exposure of these catalysts to a basic solution of NaCN for 10 min leached gold f...
